This was not an easy column to write because I know Dr. Monda and he and I first met and was introduced to him by Governor Simba Arati of Kisii County at his Nairobi home just before the 2022 elections. Monda impressed me as someone who would team well with Arati to develop Kisii but never thought for a moment he would end up being sacked on corruption charges–but again, it is not surprising as many people get into elected office and become something else. One of them is an idiot and household name from the previous administration I may write about some day.
